Hey all! Premiering this Thursday, November 9-11 and then the 16-18 is Drury University's production of Steel Magnolias! It should be a lovely show, directed by the Tony-nominated Robert Westenberg (of Into the Woods fame) and cast by the finest ladies the Drury theatre department has to offer. General admission is $9 and students are $7, Drury students and staff get in for just $2, and the show starts at 8! Call 873-7255 Monday through Friday 1-5 to reserve tickets, or just show up and buy them at the door!
Come and support college theatre!
Wow. This place is dead.
Anyway, I'm a junior in high school right now and time for applying to colleges is just around the corner.
I'm a prospective musical theatre/theatre major and I was wondering if anyone has had Robert Westenberg as a teacher. I really liked him in Into the Woods and Sunday in the Park with George. What's he like?
Bueller? Bueller? Current Mood: blah
Just a funny incident...
So, thinking the email wouldn't go through for officious reasons, I sent a letter to the president of my university saying the following:
Hi. I just wanted to wish you a happy December. I do this every December. Thanks a lot for December.
Sarah A. King.
Yeah. I didn't think it would send. It did. I received his reply this evening:
Thanks for your note!
I can't believe I just thanked Drury's President for the month of December. AHHH.
Well... isn't this sad?
Well... this is kind of sad. The Drury University livejournal, and nothing is in it. It projects the wrong impression, methinks. So, I guess... I'm gonna update it?
All right. I guess I'll start with the basics. I'm a freshman, majoring in Theatre and Writing, kind of have a toothache, my window is open, and I'm listening to Ben Folds.
How is everyone else?
..... Any parties this weekend? There, if that doesn't do it, I don't know what will.
And I know that as of right now there is only one member, besides me. But hopefully that'll change. Yeah.
